HAPPY BIRTHDAYS: Looking ahead a little, the next few birthdays are Garrett Lawlor, who will be 14 on Oct. 8, Tessa Bohn, who will be 11 on Oct. 11 (her golden birthday), Courtney Purcell who will be 14 on Oct. 22, and Shaun Gallagher who will be 17 on Oct. 25. Many happy returns.

NAUTICAL NOTES

1. Currently we have 24 Optimist sailors, two of whom own their own boats. Nine are in the Ernest Green Fleet. And we have nine Portsmouth sailors although a couple may drop out.
2. To clarify the new scoring procedure, absent sailors will be scored according to the number in their respective fleet at the beginning of each series. It will not change weekly or monthly.
3. And in conclusion, thank you – each and every one of you -- for last Saturday’s sendoff.
