RULES: The regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing 2005-08, the prescriptions of US Sailing, this Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions.
FEES: ENTRY FEE IS $20.00 PER SAILOR. Fee includes lunch and T-shirt for each sailor. Additional lunches for parents and friends are $5. Some additional T-shirt will be available for purchase.
LATE ENTRY: Postmarked after March 15, 2008 ADD $10.00 ADDITIONAL FEE.

FORMS: Registration and waiver forms can be found at www.veniceyouthboating.com. Additional forms will be available at registration the day of the regatta.
EXPECTED CLASSES: Optimist (Green, Red, White and Blue), Lasers (4. 7, Radial and Full Rig), Club 420’s, Sunfish, Walker Bays and Portsmouth. There will be one-design scoring for each class with five or more entries. The Portsmouth yardstick will be used for all others.
COURSE: Modified Olympic Trapezoid
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
0800 Registration opens. Sailors MUST register their sail number prior to the first race.
0900 Competitors meeting - harbor start to follow
0955 First warning signal: Races to follow
1200-1300 Lunch (on shore)
1325 Races resume; No race will start after 1530
1630 Awards presentation
CHANGES: Any changes to the Notice of Race or Sailing Instructions will be issued at the registration table and announced at the competitors meeting at 0900.
STARTING ORDER: Portsmouth, Lasers (all), 420’s, Sunfish, Opti RWB, Opti Green and Walker Bays.
STARTING SEQUENCE: Three (3) minute whistle signals and flags will be used for each class.
SCORING: The low point scoring system, rule A2, will apply for all fleets. No score will be excluded unless seven or more races have been completed. One race constitutes a regatta.
AWARDS: Trophies will be given in each fleet, depending on the number of competitors.
VENUE: Lemon Bay, off Indian Mound Park, Englewood.
PARKING: Plenty of parking is available, but the gates do not open until 0600.
SAFETY: All competitors must wear a US Coast Guard approved lifejacket, and whistle.
SUPPORT BOATS: All support boats (coaches, parents) must register with the principal race officer.
DIRECTIONS: Take I-75 North to Exit 193 (Jacaranda Blvd) and head South (turn right at the stop sign if coming from the North; turn left at the stop sign if coming from the South). Proceed to State Road 776 (where there is a light) and turn left. Proceed to Dearborn Street (there is a light) and turn right (west). Go two blocks to McCall Road and turn left. Go one block to Green Street and turn right. Go to Winson Avenue, turn left and proceed to Indian Mound Park.
