TELL TALES (Apr. 28, 2010)

·        COMPUTER PROBLEMS: A virus slammed our computer “Joe” and he had to go to a computer hospital for an extended stay. Thus, we missed many messages and failed to publish a “Tell Tales” for Apr. 21. And we are a day late with this week’s issue. However, Joe is well, back on duty and catching up on various chores. Next week’s edition should be on time.

·        HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Stefan Johnson who turned 13 last Sunday and to Andrew Sosa who became 16 last Monday. Our skippers don’t have another birthday for almost a month.

·        SCHEDULE COMMENTS:

1.      Coach John Thomas will be taking a group of our sailors on John Lynch’s sailboat “Summertime” for Venice Sailing Squadron’s regular monthly regatta this Saturday. They shall receive regatta points since they will miss the series race slated for that day.

2.      The Venice Yacht Club is hosting a Kentucky Derby party and all VYBA parents, grandparents and friends are invited to attend. Please contact John Sammet atJPSammet@comcast.net or call him at 244-2800 to make reservations so all of us can be seated together.

3.      Only three skippers have signed up for the School’s Out Regatta. We need a majority to send a trailer and coach or coaches. Our deadline and DIYC’s early bird fee deadline is May 15.
