Aug. 29 – Fall Series race 3 and boat load

Sep. 5-6 – Labor Day Regatta at the Sarasota Sailing Squadron, Sarasota

Alex moved up two spots while Scott and Lucas advanced one place.

· ALICIA MUSCATO of our RWB Fleet, will be leaving us at the end of the summer and transferring to the Manatee River Pram Fleet in Palmetto. However, her father (Mike) will remain on the VYBA board. And although Bryan White will be entering the University of South Florida next month, his father (Kevin) also will stay on our board of directors. Our best to all concerned.

· CONNI MUSCATO was last week’s eagle eye as she caught one of our errors. We said the rack rates were increasing $10 a month. Wrong! It’s $10 a year. Sorry about that.

· BLAKE WALDRON substituted for John Thomas last Saturday and Kyle D’Arcangelis will fill in for Capt. John this coming Saturday. Blake also took Bryan White’s place as a learn-to-sail instructor this past Monday and Tuesday while Bryan attended orientation at USF in Tampa. Jackie Sims is the other LTS instructor through the rest of the summer, including special Green Fleet training.

· SPECIAL TRAINING: Our new Green Fleet will be training Aug. 10-14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and our RWB sailors are strongly urged to come for extra practice that week, starting at 12:30 p.m.

· ANOTHER CHANGE: Coach Robert Berg will not be returning this coming school year and Jabbo Gordon will work with the Ernest Green Fleet both during Saturday sessions and at regattas.

· DOCK BROKEN: Part of the wooden dock next to our floating dock is broken and yellow tape is strung between two pilings to remind sailors to stay off that part of the dock. Be careful.

· PAUL THORPE has been named as chairman of the annual dinner that will be at the Venice Yacht Club some time after the shutdown period, which is scheduled for Aug. 9-25.

· BROKEN GEAR: When you break something, please tell Jabbo or at least leave him a note that day. He cannot fix it or replace it if he does not know about it. Don’t wait until the next week.
