·         DAVID SWETT MEMORIAL REGATTA:  This item will serve as the sailing instructions, like we did for the Jim Pique Memorial Regatta and the Crow’s Nest Regatta in the autumn.

1.       An informal registration (no forms, but we will take attendance) will start at 0800. A skipper’s meeting is slated for 0900. The race committee will run races in the morning, break for lunch and more races in the afternoon. Bring your own lunch. No race will start after 1600. Officials will announce the results and award the trophies after clean-up.

2.       The starting and finishing line, for most races, will be between a faded red flag on the RC boat and an orange buoy. A three-minute sound signal sequence, with flags, shall apply.

3.       There will be two rolling starts: Portsmouth Division (blue class flag) and the Optimist class (Opti flag). Optimist skippers will race together but will be scored separately between RWB and Green Fleets. The “I” flag (around the end rule) shall apply for all starts.

·         TAMPA REGATTA: Because only five Optimist skippers signed up for the School’s Out Regatta, which will be at Tampa’s Davis Island Yacht Club on May 23-24, we are not going as a club. Those who wish to go on their own are encouraged to do so, but there will be no trailer or coach available. Please let us know if you decide to go anyhow so we can give you regatta points.

·         SPECIAL SESSIONS: We have nine checks for 420 class from Scott Trecartin, Stephan VerHulst, Sami Tornese, Samantha Wood, Paul Kreider, Lucas Galarza, Garrett Lawlor, Alex Soodak and Andrew Sosa. There are only three openings left and they will be filled on a first come basis. However, in the performance Optimist class, only three have paid: Alicia Muscato, Stephan VerHulst and Lucas Galarza. If we do not receive one more by Friday, we shall have to cancel.

·         SERIES STANDINGS:  (after six races for Green and five for RWB and Portsmouth)

Green Fleet: 1, Samantha Wood, 13; 2. Lucas Galarza, 13; 3. Carla Johnson, 19.5; 4, Scott Trecartin, 22 ; 5, Shaun Gallagher, 34; 6, Alex Soodak, 35; 7, Mariah Miller, 40; 8, Blake Erquiaga, 45; 9, T.C. Liming, 48; 10, Toussaint Thomas, 55.

RWB Fleet: 1, Stephan VerHulst, 12; 2, Cara Patete, 12.5; 3. Garrett Lawlor, 14; 4, Evan Langer, 21; 5, Aubrey Khachetoorian, 23; 6, Stefan Johnson, 24;  7, Alicia Muscato, 33.4.

Portsmouth Division: 1, Paul Kreider, 13; 2, Sami Tornese, 13; 3, Michelle Thomas, 15; 4, Andrew Sosa, 17, 5, Tyler Thorpe, 23; 6, Chloe Dietrich, 25; 7, Bryan White, 33.

·         LOSING TWO: TC Liming has decided not to continue sailing because he wants to concentrate on golf. His last sailing day will be May 23. Brad Arnold will not be returning at all. He has been suffering from a condition which affects his hands and that is caused by salt water. We shall miss both sailors. Boat reassignments have been determined and will be announced next week.
